Is it okay to say "It's Okay"??

Well i don't know if this is just an Indonesian culture thing, or is it also international thing.

In here, in Indonesia.. image or appearance is really important, so many people do things that they don't mean it.

One of them is a fake "It's okay". Lot's of people say "tidak apa - apa" or "It's okay" in english but they actually don't mean it. This is resulting the people resenting or hating one another. Perhaps they feel annoyed,  burdened, or simply dislike the favors.

example 1:
A : Hey, can you accompanied me to the mall today
B : Hmmm, okay
A : But i'm gonna be there for quite some time
B : No, it's okay
B (inside B's thought) : Argh, "A" is really annoying, she's taking too much of my time today

example 2:
C : Sorry i'm late
D : Never mind it's okay
C (Inside C's thought) : I waited for you for far too long, why can't you be on time??

This's sometimes resulting B resenting A, and C annoyed by D. For some extreme moody person, this simple thing can ruin their entire day.

But the thing is. People don't understand the power of "it's okay". When you said those two words, you're responsible for it. Any consequences and implication from the event is yours to burden. You can't blame people for it, you already said that you're okay with it. Don't ever expect anyone to read your thought or behavior.

So, when you're saying "It's okay" think again of the implication and consequences in the future. Even if something goes wrong and it's really unexpected, you can't fully blame other people for it, because you're agreed that's "it's okay".

Rather than blaming or being angry at other for some favor or event. Think that you're already saying "it's okay"before. Those two words it's like a contract, you have your own share of responsibilities for anything that happen from it.

In "A and B" cases, A should think that he already said "it's okay" to take B to the mall. If he doesn't want to, he have a choice to say that he's not okay with it. But he choose the opposite, so he should enjoyed it.

In "C and D" case, D already said "it's okay" so he can't be angry anymore at C for being late. Before he said that he's okay, he should speak up his mind to C.

The conclusion is :
Saying "It's okay" is your choice, you can choose not to say that. But once you said that, remember that those two words are like a contract : anything that happen from it, you have your own share of responsibilities and any consequences is also yours to burden. So make sure when you're saying "it's okay" you're really mean it. But, if you don't really mean it, but you said it anyway, remember not to be angry with other parties. Because you're already said "it's okay", just enjoyed the moment!

Happy judging your decision in the future people! :D
